A lot of people think weight loss is rigged against them.

You improve your diet and start to lose weight, but after a while your improvements slow down or stop completely, which is frequently referred to as a weight loss plateau.

Many people point to this as evidence of the "starvation response," or a dramatically slowed metabolic rate brought about by dieting.

It's not, and there's a very logical reason why this occurs.
