Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki | From Scratch with Yakisoba (2018)

This okonomiyaki is special because we are making it Hiroshima Style. That means it’s going to have noodles. For this variation, we’re using yakisoba noodles. It’s best served hot off the stove and topped with Kewpie Mayonnaise, Okonomiyaki sauce and of course – aonori, katsuobushi, and shichimi pepper. Yes, all of those!!

Hiroshima okonomiyaki is unique in both the assembly and also the ingredients used. The okonomiyaki is like a sandwich with a thin layer of crispy crepe on the top and bottom.

Then in between you have all the vegetables, meat and noodles. I think the different layers are what I like about Hiroshima Style okonomiyaki, it's complex and each bite has so much going on!
