French toast is a pretty special weekend treat - but French toast in a waffle maker is much more fun than French toast in a pan… and you can put way more maple syrup on them!

Ingredients
4 eggs
1½ cup (375 mL) milk
3⁄4 cup (175 mL) 35% cream
1 tsp (5 mL) pure vanilla extract
2 Tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup, plus extra to serve
8 thick slices of day old Brioche or Texas toast
2 Tbsp (30 mL) softened unsalted butter
½ cup (125 mL) marmalade
maple syrup for serving

Method:
Pre-heat your waffle iron.
Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla extract and maple syrup, and pour into a shallow dish.
Butter, and spread marmalade evenly over one side of each bread slice.
Dip slices into egg mixture, and gently turn over until bread is saturated with the mixture.
Carefully place slices into waffle iron and close lid.
Cook and repeat with remaining bread and egg mixture.
