FAKE MANTI (Turkish Ravioli) RECIPE - No knead, so easy and tasty!

Music: J. S. BACH: C Minor Fugue - BWV 871
Piano: Elvan A. ULUCINAR

In this episode I'd like to share with you an incredibly tasty recipe. It is so easy to prepare and guilt free. And it almost tastes like real MANTI, Turkish ravioli. I use Bulgur because of its low GI, but you can prepare the same recipe with 1/2 package pasta, if desired.

INGREDIENTS (for 2-3 people)
150 gr. (1/3 pound) ground beef
1 green bell pepper
1 onion
1 1/2 cups coarse bulgur (or 1/2 packet pasta)
8-9 cups hot water
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp red bell pepper paste
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp sweet paprika
Sumac, dried mint flakes, hot paprika (optional)
7-8 real tablespoonful thick yogurt, 4 cloves of garlic
Salt & black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Rinse the bulgur, then drain and set aside.
Peel and crush the garlic cloves, combine with yogurt.
Add a pinch of salt and a little water, mix and set aside, to let it
come up to room temp.
Cut the onion and pepper finely.
Heat 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil in a large pan, over medium heat.
Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up with the back of a spoon,
until browned, for about 5 minutes.
Add the chopped veggies, sprinkle a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Reduce heat to medium low and saut for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the tomato and red pepper paste, sprinkle 1 tsp sweet paprika
and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Then add the hot water and bring to a boil over medium to medium
high heat.
Add 1 real teaspoonful or to taste salt, mix.
Add bulgur (or pasta) mix.
Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until cooked through, stirring occasionally.
If using pasta, follow the package directions for cooking time.
When fake MANTI is nearly cooked, melt 1 tbsp butter in a saucepan.
Sprinkle 1 tsp red sweet paprika and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Then turn off the heat.
Check bulgur for doneness, then turn off the heat.
Using a slotted spoon, place in a serving dish.
Place 3-4 tbsp garlicky yogurt on top and then drizzle butter&paprika sauce.
Sprinkle some sumac, dried mint flakes and hot paprika (if desired) then serve hot, and enjoy.
It tastes so amazing, by the way!
