Easy Turkish Meal To Make At Home! Inspired By orum City After my trip to orum city in the black se region I shared in the previous episode; back home, I prepared a quick dinner inspired by my trip and the local ingredients I brought back. It is a perfect example of an easy Turkish Home cooked meal. I will make soup, a main dish, and a dessert with simple ingredients.

"atal A" Barley & Lentil Soup With Mint Sauce
1 cup cracked barley
1 cup green lentils
1 medium to big size onion
2 heaped tbsp butter
2-3 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
1 heaped tbsp dry mint
salt to taste enough hot water

"orum Mants" Fried Manti / Dumpling With Minced Meat Sauce:
For the base:
2 cups dry ready manti / Or use elbow or farfellini or similar pasta: SAute the pasta in some olive oil until partially fried. Add water and continue to the recipe.
1+1/2 cup + more if needed water to cook
salt to season
pinch of curry powder (my addition, optional)
about 1 cup full fat plain yogurt
For the topping:
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
200gr. minced meat
salt, paprika to taste
1 tsp tomato paste (optional)
some manti water (optional)
more olive oil or butter if needed (You should see some oil on the sides of the sauce)

"Leblebi Helvas" Roasted Chickpea Halva:
1 cup (100gr.) leblebi / roasted chickpeas
60gr. butter
3-4 tbsp vegetable oil
3/4 cup sugar
1+1/2 cup water
ground pistachios to serve (optional)
