When winter is here, make this hash brown inspired Crispy Kand (Purple Yam) and enjoy!

CRISPY KAND

Ingredients

300 grams purple yam (kand)
Salt to taste
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper powder
2-3 tbsps corn flour
Oil for cooking
½ cup cream cheese
¼ tsp paprika powder
1 tsp chopped chives + to sprinkle
1 tbsp fresh cream

Method

1. Peel the purple yam and grate thickly.
2. Add salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper powder, corn flour and mix well.
3. Heat a nonstick tawa. Place a greased cookie cutter and add a portion of purple yam mixture and press well.
4. Drizzle some oil and cook on low heat for 6-8 minutes or till the underside is golden brown and crisp.
5. Flip and cook on other side for 4-5 minutes on low heat.
6. For the dip, take cream cheese in a bowl. Add salt, black pepper powder and mix well.
7. Add paprika powder, chives, fresh cream and mix well.
8. Sprinkle chives on kand and serve hot with the prepared dip.
