Chinese Five Spice Peanuts (五香花生) | The Chinese Cuisine

These crunchy, aromatic peanuts are delicious and are a perfect snack!

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb. raw peanuts
- 1 lb. salt
- star anise
- bay leaves
- cloves
- cinnamon
- fennel

DIRECTIONS:
1. combine all the spices and water (enough water to boil the peanuts)
2. when the water starts boiling take out spices and add in raw peanuts
3. when water starts boiling take out peanuts (they are still raw at this point)
4. add salt to a pan
5. add in boiled peanuts
6. cook the peanuts as shown or 25-30 minutes
7. serve and enjoy!
