Chicken Kaarage (Japanese Fried Chicken Nuggets)

Happy Holidays!! Today we have everyones favorite, CHICKEN KARAAGE!!! (Japanese Fried Chicken Nuggets)
I rarely fry anything at home, it gets messy, if you know what I mean. But THIS IS WORTH IT! Its crispy, juicy, and fulllll of umaminess. I promise, its worth the clean up I hope you have a chance to try the recipe! Its the perfect appetizer for your holiday gatheringsYum yum.


Recipe (serves 2)

0.5 lb (250g) chicken thigh
starch for coating chicken
oil for deep frying

Marinade:
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 clove garlic, grated
1 teaspoon sake
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 ground white pepper

1. Combine marinade in a bowl.
2. Chop chicken into bite size pieces (about 1 inch pieces).
3. Add chicken in the marinade and chill for 15 minutes.
4. Prepare starch for coating chicken.
5. In a deep frying pan heat oil to medium.
6. Dip the chicken in starch and fry! Cook until the outside is brown, 2-3 minutes.
7. Heres the secret! To make the chicken extra crispy, were going to DOUBLE FRY! Add the fried chicken back into the heated oil and fry until golden brown.
8. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and enjoy!
