Bread Chips | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Homemade Bread Chips are a quick and delicious snack. These Bread Chips are coated in garlic and herb oil and baked until perfectly crispy.

BREAD CHIPS

Ingredients

1 baguette
2-3 sprigs fresh thyme
2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary
2-3 sprigs fresh oregano
¾ cup + 1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon refined flour (maida)
1 cup milk
25 grams processed cheese
25 grams mozzarella cheese
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste

Method

1. Preheat oven to 160° C.
2. Cut baguette into thin slices.
3. Chop thyme, rosemary and oregano leaves together.
4. Melt ¾ cup butter in a microwave. Remove from heat, add chopped herbs and mix well.
5. Place the bread slices on a baking tray and brush with the herbed-butter. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
6. To make sauce, heat 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick pan. Add flour and sauté for 30 seconds. Add milk, mix and cook till the sauce thickens.
7. Grate processed and mozzarella cheese in it, mix well and cook till the cheese melts.
8. Add salt and crushed peppercorns, mix well and bring to a boil.
9. Serve bread chips with the prepared sauce.
