APPLE DUMPLING WITH DATE BUTTER

Ingredients

2 medium green apples
200 grams short crust pastry dough
170 grams dates, deseeded and chopped
80 grams butter
60 grams brown sugar
Refined flour for dusting

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180ĚŠ C. Line a baking tray with a parchment paper.
2. To prepare filling, take dates in a bowl. Add brown sugar and butter and mix well.
3. Halve and deseed the green apples. Scoop out the flesh from the centre of the apple halves using a melon scooper to make cavities. Stuff them with a portion of the filling.
4. Place the short crust pastry dough on the worktop and roll out into a thin sheet, dusting with some flour.
5. Place the prepared apple shells, filling side down, on the sheet and cut the sheet into individual squares. Diagonally slit the 4 sides of each square sheet, fold to cover the apples and seal.
6. Place the prepared apple dumplings on the lined tray. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
7. Serve warm.
