Amritsar Chana Masala Recipe चना मसाला (पंजाबी छोले चना) This is an 'Indian' food recipe that is based on a 6 month trip we took through Indian in 2005 - I know in the video I say 2006 - 2007... but Julie corrected me later. How time flies!Ingredients:30 mL (2 Tbsp) veg oil1 smallish onion, chopped2 garlic cloves, minced1” ginger, grated5 mL (1 tsp) garam masala1 mL (¼ tsp) turmeric10 mL (2 tsp) ground cumin10 mL (2 tsp) ground coriander1 mL (¼ tsp) chili powder2-3 tomatoes, crushed1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsedMethod:In a saucepan, heat the oil over medium high heat.Add the onions and cook, stirring, until golden brown.Add the garlic, and ginger; cook, stirring, until fragrant.Stir in the dry spices and cook for about a minute before adding in the tomatoes.Cook and stir the mixture until the tomatoes are broken down and then add the chickpeas.Stir to combine, and add some water as needed to make a sauce.Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes before serving.Indian Feast Videos:Amritsar Chana Masala Recipe: https://youtu.be/wKwZn7nvlkACauliflower With Ginger And Cumin Recipe: https://youtu.be/2eWmER9RfOQ#LeGourmetTV #GlenAndFriendsCooking #IndianFeast
