Aloo Churmur | আলু চুরমার | Khete Cholo | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

This recipe in Bengali is of the famous crispy chat from the streets of Kolkata which is not only delicious but is also very easy to make.

ALOO CHURMUR

Ingredients

2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and cut into cubes
3 tbsps dried white peas, soaked and pressure cooked with a pinch of turmeric and salt
Salt to taste
¼ tsp cumin powder
¼ tsp chaat masala
½ tsp chopped green chilli + for garnish
2 tsps chopped fresh coriander
1 tbsp tamarind water + for garnish
5 phuchkas

Method

1. Transfer potatoes in a bowl and mash. Add dried white peas and mix well. Add salt, cumin powder, chaat masala, green chilli and coriander. Mix well. Add 1 tbsp tamarind water. Crush phuchkas and add. Mix well.
2. Transfer aloo churmur in a serving plate.
3. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green chilli and tamarind water.
