Tennessee Nut Crumpets Recipe - Old Cookbook Show
Today we look at an old cookbook recipe from the Southern State of Tennessee - Nut Crumpets. I hear you screaming; "but this isn't a crumpet recipe" and I would agree with you, but for some reason the author of this cookbook called this small cake recipe Nut Crumpets. That's part of the fun of cooking history and looking at historic recipes in community cookbooks.

Nut Crumpets
One egg, one half cup each of sugar and butter, one cup of milk, one of chopped nut meats, two and a half of flour, two teaspoons of baking powder, and one half teaspoon of salt. Drop by spoonfuls into a greased pan. Bake.

These baked for about 12-15 minutes at 350ºF
