Beef or Mutton1 Lb. Potatoes1 Onion1 Saltspoon Salt¼ Saltspoon Pepper¼ Pt. WaterMethod:Remove everything disagreeable from the meat and cut it into nice sized pieces. Prepare the vegetables and slice them. Put a layer of meat at the bottom of an earthenware dish, then a layer of vegetables. Sprinkle with seasoning. Continue this till all is used. The top layer must be potato. Pour in the water, cover with a greased paper. Bake in a slow oven for two hours. If there is any danger of the stew becoming dry, add more water during the cooking.
