Thai markets are a great place to explore the food of Thailand, Thai street food & Thai culture. This market is open from around 3AM until 10AM every day. It's a great place to shop, or to have breakfast, with many choices of prepared food available. Surat Thani is very different to, and much cheaper than the more touristy areas like Phuket, Patong Beach, Krabi, Pataya or Bangkok. Generally tourists just pass through here on their way to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. It is a very authentic Thai style town with many Chinese influences and gives an insight into the real Thailand. It's a very interesting place for a visit, and a great place to explore Thai culture. It's definitely worth a look when on holiday in Thailand.
