A vol-au-vent is the French name for a baked puff pastry batter. Vol-au-vent are typically made by cutting two circles in rolled out puff pastry, cutting a hole in one of them, then stacking the ring-shaped piece on top of the disc-shaped piece. This pastry is usually found filled with savory ingredients, but can also have a sweet filling.

Ingredients
6-8 vol-au-vent puffs

For the filling
1 tbsp of butter
1 tbsp of maida (plain flour)
1 cup of milk
1 cup of sautéd onion, corn and capsicum
1 tbsp of fresh parsley and chives, chopped
¼ cup of sharp cheddar cheese
Salt, pepper and mustard to taste
