I made Tteokgalbi for Chuseok(Korean Thanksgiving Day)!

Tteokgalbi is grilled marinated patties stuck on pieces of rib bone.
Tteok means rice cake. Although there is no rice cake in them, we still call them Tteokgalbi because they look like rice cake.

They look like burger patties, but these are marinated in Korean galbi sauce and kneaded many times so they are sweet, chewy and moist.
They taste best grilled on fire, but you can cook them on a pan or in an oven.
Tteokgalbi is served to special guests because they are so complicated to make. Happy thanksgiving day!

1. Although its not in the video, pat dry the minced beef using paper towel.
I used regular minced beef, but I recommend chopping up ribs yourself.

2. Finely chop onion and white bit of green onion.

3. Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl.

4. .
4. Mix the minced beef and the marinade.

Now, you have to knead the beef until they look like dough so that they wont crack while cooking.
Some people add glutinous rice flour or starch for chewiness, but I dont.

5. , .
Form patties in desired sizes and knead more.

6. .
Cook the patties on a grill or in a pan until golden brown.
