Traditional Vazhakkai Podimas! Glimpses of Dallas! Tangy Raw Banana Melt In Mouth recipe!

Ingredients:
Medium size raw banana - 2
Tamarind - gooseberry size
Turmeric powder- tsp
Til oil or any other oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Green chillies - 2
Ginger - 1 inch
Asaefotida- tsp
Lemon juice - to make date
Fresh coconut - cup
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves to garnish
Method :
Cut the bananas into halves and immerse them in boiling water adding tamarind and turmeric powder to avoid discolouration
Chop the green chillies and ginger and keep aside
When the bananas are cooked till you can pierce with a knife easily switch off flame
Peel the skin and grate the bananas
Now heat oil in a pan
Temper with mustard seeds and cumin seed add urad dal and roast till golden
Add the chopped green chillies and ginger and stir fry
Now add asaefotida lowering the flame
Add the grated bananas
Toss everything together lightly not mashing the bananas
Add salt and toss
Now switch off flame and add lemon juice
Add fresh coconut
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves
