#VazhakaiPodimas is a #traditional recipe often made by #Meenama; however the credit for this recipe goes to my Aunt Mrs.BrindaIngredients:Medium size raw banana - 2Tamarind - gooseberry sizeTurmeric powder- tspTil oil or any other oil - 2 tbspMustard - 1 tspCumin seeds - 1 tspUrad dal - 1 tspGreen chillies - 2Ginger - 1 inchAsaefotida- tspLemon juice - to make dateFresh coconut - cupSalt to tasteCoriander leaves to garnishMethod :Cut the bananas into halves and immerse them in boiling water adding tamarind and turmeric powder to avoid discolouration Chop the green chillies and ginger and keep asideWhen the bananas are cooked till you can pierce with a knife easily switch off flamePeel the skin and grate the bananasNow heat oil in a panTemper with mustard seeds and cumin seed add urad dal and roast till goldenAdd the chopped green chillies and ginger and stir fryNow add asaefotida lowering the flameAdd the grated bananasToss everything together lightly not mashing the bananas Add salt and tossNow switch off flame and add lemon juiceAdd fresh coconut Garnish with fresh coriander leaves Delicious Vazhakkai Podimas is ready!
