Traditional Mor Sambar by Meenama No Tamarind, No Tomatoes, Loaded with Protein

#Traditional recipe #MorSambar by #Meenama is a unique main course to try out - No tamarind,no tomatoes! Its not Mor Kuzhambu! Its loaded with protein due to the Tur dal added.
Mor Sambar
Beaten curd - 2 cups
Cooked Tur dal - 1 cup
Dum stick - 1
Small size brinjal - 4
Green chillies - 4
Ginger - 1 inch
Mustard seeds - tsp
Fenugreek seeds/methi seeds - tsp
Rice flour - 2 tsp
Til oil - few tsps
Coriander leaves - as reqd
Curry leaves - as reqd
Salt to taste
Ingredients for grinding :
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Red chillies - 4
Poppy seeds - tsp
Method:
Add1 tsp of oil in a pan
When the oil is hot, add chana dal, coriander seeds, red chillies and poppy seeds
Fry in oil till golden in colour
Allow the roasted ingredients to come to room temperature
Grind to a smooth paste adding some water and keep aside
Chop drumsticks and brinjal into big pieces and keep aside
Chop green chillies and ginger and keep separate
Meanwhile add the rice flour to the beaten and keep aside
Take a heavy surface vessel and heat few tsps of Til oil
Splutter mustard seeds
Add the methi seeds and roast
Now add the green chillies and ginger
Saut
Now add the chopped drumstick and brinjal sand stir fry everything for few mins
Add some water to just cover the vegetables
Cook till drumsticks and brinjal are cooked
Add the rice flour mixed beaten curd to the cooked vegetables
Add the ground masala pasta
Add the cooked Tur da too
Add salt to taste
Allow everything to cook together till blends well
Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves
