Ingredients:
Toor Dal - 1 cup
Raw Rice - 3 cups
Kashmiri red chillies - 6 Or red chillies 5
Grated fresh coconut - ½ cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tap
Ginger - 2 inches
Til oil - as required
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash the Toor Dal and raw rice thoroughly well in water
Chop the ginger roughly
Soak the Dal and rice along with the Kashmiri red chillies in water for at least 3 hours
Now in a small mixer jar, grind coconut, ginger and the cumin seeds into a paste
Then grind the soaked Toor Dal and rice with the red chillies adding the ground coconut paste too
Grind the Toor Dal Dosa batter into a smooth consistency
Now add curry leaves, asafoetida and salt to the batter and mix very well
Add water as required to adjust consistency if the batter - should be thicker than a Dosa batter
Heat and grease a Dosa tava with til oil
Pour a ladleful of batter and spread - not very thin
Drizzle oil over the sides
Roast to a golden colour on both sides
Serve with butter jaggery or any chutney
