Tomato Rice (Thakkali Sadam) By Preetha | India Food Network

Preetha brings to your plate the south Indian style tangy Tomato Rice. Quick to put together, easy ingredients and very easy to customize. All you need to prep is some leftover rice from previous nights meal. Serve it with some papad and its a complete meal.

Ingredients
1 tsp mutard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
1/4 tsp methi seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp chana dal
curry leaves
hing (asafoetida)
2 green chillies, chopped
1 tsp ginger, chopped
1 tsp garlic, chopped
4-5 roughly chopped tomatoes
turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp rasam powder
few coriander leaves
cooked rice
salt to taste
oil for cooking
