This Nasi Padang stall is a hidden gem at Bedok

When I first caught wind of Desa Rancapanggung, I was really excited about their delicious Nasi Padang offerings. I also discovered that Sani, the owner of the stall, is known for his superb sambal. As an amateur spice lover myself, this really made my mouth water in anticipation. I just had to head down to try it for myself!

Upon speaking to Sani, I discovered that his wife, the master chef, wakes up at 4am every day to cook everything! I also discovered that many of the more unique dishes on offer at Desa Rancapanggung have Indonesian touches (influenced by his wife's Indonesian background). In fact, Desa Rancapanggung translates to Rancapanggung village, her hometown in Indonesia!

Sani and his wife purchase the ingredients daily, ensuring that every dish is made with the freshest ingredients possible. Such labour of love translates to some of the best Nasi Padang dishes I have tried in Singapore. Not to mention, the Nasi Padang here is much more affordable than most Nasi Padang out there, which can run close to $10 a plate! The next time you are in the Bedok Reservoir area, definitely save some stomach space for the Nasi Padang here!
