The simplicity of the recipe is intriguing - just a few ingredients from our pantry and you have a interesting and nutritious snack ready.So hop into Sujan Fun Kitchen for the #ThavalaVadaiRecipe.Thavala VadaiIngredients:Raw rice - 2 cupsTur dal - ¼ cupChana dal - ¼ cupBlack pepper - 1 tspCumin seeds - 1 tspGreen chillies - 4Ginger - 2 inchesCurry leaves to tasteMustard seeds - 1 tspAsaefotidaOil as required Salt to tasteMethod:Powder raw rice, dals, black pepper and cumin seeds in a mixer jar - keep asideCrush the green chillies and ginger or chop them finelyHear some oil in a heavy panSplutter mustard seeds in itAdd 1 tsp chana dal and fry till goldenAdd asafotidaNow add the crushed green chillies and ginger and sauteAdd 3 or 3 ½ cups of water and allow to boilAdd salt to tasteNow add the powdered rice-dal mix and cook together till everything comes togetherSwitch off flame and close the Thavala Vadai mix tightly for few minutesNow, divide into equal sized portions and pat into vadai or cutletsHeat a dosa griddle and spread with oilPlace the flattened Thavalai Vadais on the griddle and cook covered over medium flameWhen golden underneath, flip sides and cook UNCOVERED now till goldenServe piping hot Thavalai Vadais to your friends and family
