TAMATAR KHAJUR KI CHUTNEY

Ingredients

2 medium tomatoes
15-20 seedless dates
¾ cup chopped jaggery
¾ tsp roasted cumin powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
Black salt to taste
Samosas to serve

Method

1. Roughly chop tomatoes.
2. Heat a deep pan. Add tomatoes, 1½ cups water, dates, jaggery, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder and black salt and mix well. Let it come to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes.
3. Switch the heat off and blend the mixture using an electric hand blender.
4. Add ½ cup water and place the pan back on heat. Cook till the mixture comes to a boil.
5. Allow the chutney to cool completely.
6. Serve with samosas.
