तड़केवाला चुकंदर का छास | Tadkewala Beetroot Chaas | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Chaas is a refreshing and cooling drink. Give your regular chaas a unique sweet and veggie tadka with tadkewala beetroot chaas! Besides, its enticing colour will take you on a trip into a dreamy world.

TADKEWALA BEETROOT CHAAS

Ingredients

2 medium beetroots, boiled, peeled and roughly chopped
1½ cups chilled yogurt
2 tbsps ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ inch ginger, chopped
2 green chillies, chopped
Black salt to taste
Salt to taste
½ tsp chaat masala
10-15 fresh mint leaves + for garnish
1½ tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
Ice cubes as required

Method

1. Transfer the beetroots in a blender jar. Add ½ cup yogurt and grind to fine paste.
2. Transfer in a bowl. Add remaining yogurt and whisk well. Add 3 cups chilled water and mix well.
3. For the tempering, heat ghee in a small pan. Add cumin seeds and once they start to change the colour, add ginger, green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Add this tempering to the chaas and mix well. Add black salt, salt, chaat masala and mix well.
5. Add mint leaves, coriander leaves and mix well.
6. Add ice cubes in individual glasses and pour the prepared chaas over. Serve chilled garnished with mint leaves.
