Sweet & Sour Pork 酸甜猪肉丸 | Emilee's Kitchen 愛米丽厨房

Sweet and Sour Pork - a very classic chinese dish. Every time when I go to a chinese restaurant, I can see more than half of the customers ordered sweet and sour pork. Therefore I would say this is really popular and is loved by most of the people.

I got this secret meatballs recipe from my father in law and the sauce from my mum. Some people also add oyster sauce, cooking wine, soy sauce etc in the sauce. However, I do not like it. I prefer the simple flavour which are the tomato sos, sugar and vinegar.

Also do not forget to add the pineapple which give your the extra sweetness from the fruit.

For those who don't eat pork, you can also replace it with chicken, deep fried chicken pieces / oven baked chicken pieces and you can even use seafood like prawn.

Some people do not like onion. But for this dish, please do not omit it. It gives the special flavour to the sweet and sour sauce.
