Gulgule or gulgula is an extremely popular traditional sweet and savoury snack treats from northern India that are crispy, spongy, tender, and an absolute treat for your tastebuds. Gulgule are generally made on festivals like Diwali, holi. Today I am sharing another version of this deep-fried snack, Oats gulgule made with jaggery and banana. These gulgule turns out perfect and is absolute delight to have as these are mildly sweet and can be served as munching snack too. The recipe is basically an extension to the popular malpua recipe where the same batter is used to make a deep-fried ball-shaped snack.

Ingredients:
Oats flour – ½ cup
Whole Wheat Flour – ½ cup
Semolina (Sooji) – 2 tbsp
Jaggery Powder – ¾ cup
Banana – 1 pcs
Fennel Seeds crushed – 1 tsp
Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
Cinnamon Powder – optional
Water
Baking Soda – ½ tsp

Method:
1. Prepare a batter using all the ingredients. Blend it using hand blender. Let the batter rest for 1-2 hours.
2. Add in soda and mix well.
3. Heat oil in kadai and put small portions of the prepared batter in form of balls. Fry gulgule until brown and cooker properly from inside.
4. Serve hot.
