If your baby enjoys these, it will ensure that meal times are splatter free and more enjoyable. Fresh curds make a perfect accompaniment for this khichdi.Preparation Time: 10 minutesCooking Time: 15 minutesMakes 1 cupIngredients2 tbsp mixed sprouts (moong ,chana , chawli (cow pea / lobhia) etc.)2 tbsp rice (chawal) , soaked and drained1/2 tsp ghee1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)a pinch of asafoetida (hing)1 tsp finely chopped onions1/2 tsp garlic (lehsun) pastesalt to tasteFor Servingfresh curdMethod1. Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds.2. When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida and garlic paste and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.3. Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame again for 2 to 3 minutes.4. Add the rice and mixed sprouts and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds5. Add ¾ cup of water and salt, mix well and pressure cook for 3 whistles.6. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid7. Coarsely mash the khichdi using the back of a spoon and serve lukewarm with fresh curds.
