Spanish Beer Nuts Almendras Fritas

Want to know how to make your own beer nuts Spanish-style? This fast tapas dish can be made in just five minutes. Fried and salted almonds are a popular snack in Spain. The basic recipe is below with some options for adding different spices.

ingredients:
200gm blanched whole almonds
vegetable or light olive oil
salt

Variations:
1) sprinkle 1 tsp of smoked paprika on the fried almonds along with the salt.

2) Heat 1 Tablesppon of olive oil in a small frypan. Add half a teaspoon each of ground cumin, smoked Spanish paprika, salt and a quarter teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Warm the spices gently in the pan then add 200 gms of whole blanched almonds. Stir to coat.
Transfer almonds to an oven preheated to 160 degrees celsius.
Roast for 5-10 minutes.
