WHEN WE FEEL LIKE EATING SAMBAR IN THIS LOCKDOWN AND THERE ARE NO VEGETABLES AVAILABLE. BY JUST USING ONION & TOMATO WE CAN MAKE SAMBAR AT HOME.

INGREDIENTS:- (SAMBAR FOR 2 PEOPLE)
1) TOOR DAL (PIGEON PEA) ONE CUP.
2) 2 TO 3 CHOPPED GREEN CHILE
3) 1 TBL SPN CHOPPED GINGER
4) 1 MEDIUM SIZE ONION
5) 1 MEDIUM SIZE TOMATO
6) 2 TBL SPN CHOPPED GREEN CORIANDER
7)1 TBLSPN MUSTAD SEEDS (RAI)
8) 1 TBL SPN CUMIN EEDS (JEERA)
9) 1 TBL SPN TURMERIC PDR (HALDI)
10) 1 TBL SPN RED CHILE PDWR (LAL MIRCHI PDWR)
11) 4 TBL SPN SAMBAR MASALA
12) OIL AS REQUIRED
13) SALT AS PER TASTE
14) CURRY LEAVES (KADIPATA)
15) TAMRIND SOAKED IN WATER

METHOD :-
* WASH THE TOOR DAL AND SOAK IN WATER FOR AN HOUR.
AFTER WHICH TRANSFER IT TO PRESSURE COOKER ADD 1 TBL SPN OIL & 1 TBL SPN SALT AND LET IT COOK ON SLOW FLAME FOR 3 WHISTLE.
AFTER 3 WHISTLE SWITCH OFF THE FLAME AND LET IT COOL DOWN.
* ONCE COOLED DOWN WHISK A LITTLE & ADD WATER ACCORDING TO UR CONSISTENCY AND LET IT BOIL ON LOW FLAME TILL UR MASALA IS READY.

* IN A DEEP KADHAI OR ANY DEEP PAN ADD 2 TBL SPN OF OIL.
* ADD MUSTARD SEEDS, CUMIN SEEDS, CURRY LEAVES, CHOPPED GREEN CHILE, CHOPPED GINGER AND SAUTE FOR A MIN.
* THEN ADD CHOPPED ONION SAUTE IT TILL LIGHT PINK THEN ADD TOMATO AND SAUTE WEEL FOR 2 TO 3 MIN.
* THEN ADD 1 TBL SPN TURMERIC PDW, 1 TBL SPN RED CHILE PDR, 4 TBL SPN SAMBAR MASALA PDR AND SAUTE FOR A MIN.
* NOW ADD THE DAL IN THE MASALA AND MIX WELL, ADD CHOPPED CORIANDER AND LET IT BOIL FOR 4 TO 5 MIN.
* AFTER 5 MIN ADD TAMARIND WATER LET IT BOIL FOR ANOTHER 2 MINS AND SERVE HOT WITH STEAM RICE, IDLI OR UTAPAM.
