Seyal Murgh | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Juicy and tender chicken pieces in a divine tomato based well-spiced sauce. Topped with a drizzle of fresh cream to cut through the spiced gravy.

SEYAL MURGH

Ingredients

750 grams chicken on bone, cut into pieces
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 inch ginger, sliced
2-3 fresh red chillies, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon garammasala powder
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Fresh cream for garnishing

Method

1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add garlic, ginger and fresh red chillies and sauté till garlic turns golden. Add onion, mix and sauté till golden.
2. Add dried fenugreek leaves, crushed peppercorns, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garammasala powder and mix well. Add some water and mix well.
3. Add chicken and mix well. Add tomato, mix, cover and cook for 5-10 minutes. Add salt and mix well.
4. Serve hot garnished with fresh cream and a coriander sprig.

Preparation Time:5-8 minutes
Cooking Time: 12-15 minutes
