Sevaiyan Kheer | Sweet Dish | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Vermicelli cooked in milk along with khoya to make this delicious kheer.

SEVAIYAN KHEER

Ingredients

½ cup vermicelli (sevaiyan)
1 tablespoon ghee
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon khoya
4-5 saffron strands
3-4 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
1 tablespoon chopped pistachios + for garnishing
1 tablespoon chopped cashewnuts + for garnishing

Method

1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add vermicelli and roast on low heat till golden.
2. Add milk and mix well. Add khoya and saffron strands, mix and cook on low heat till vermicelli is fully cooked.
3. Add sugar, cardamom powder, pistachios and cashewnuts, mix and cook for 4-5 minutes on low heat.
4. Serve hot garnished with remaining pistachios and cashewnuts.

Preparation time: 2-3 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes
