Full recipe for SAVOURY RINGS:IngredientsFor the dough:250 g butter (at room temperature) cup grape seed oil (or another fine liquid oil) 1/3 cup sugar1 cup yogurt tbsp apple cider vinegar tbsp mahleb tbsp baking powder1 tbsp salt4.5- 5 cups flourFor decoration:1 egg1 tsp olive oil cup sesame seeds1 tbsp black cumin (nigella) seedsDirectionsMAKING THE DOUGHPrepare a large bowl for the doughPour tbsp of vinegar and cup of grape seed oil into the bowlAdd 1 cup of yogurt, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 tbsp of salt, 250 g of softened butter, tbsp of mahleb, and tbsp of baking powder into the bowlThoroughly mix the ingredients to achieve a homogenous mixtureThen, gradually sieve the flour into the bowlYou can add first 3-4 cups of flour in at once, but the last cup of flour should be added to the mixture by observing the consistency of the doughThe dough should be soft and moldableUse the last cup of flour to obtain this consistencyWhen the dough has reached its desired texture, avoid adding any more of the remaining flourOnce the dough is ready, prepare the cooking trays and the ingredients for decorationSHAPING & DECORATIONSeparate the yolk and the white of the egg and place them in different bowlsLightly whisk the egg white and set asideDrizzle 1 tsp of olive oil over the egg yolk and set asidePlace the sesame and black cumin (nigella) seeds into separate bowlsPrepare bite-sized rings from the doughSimply roll a bit of dough into a stick and join both ends together to make a ring shapeTry to make them all same size and develop your own technique if mine is not practical for youYou can alter the size and thickness, but keep in mind; smaller and thinner cookies will be crunchier in texture!!Once you form the cookies, coat half of them with egg white and then sesame seedsCoat the other half of the cookies with egg yolk and sprinkle them with black cumin seedsPlace the cookies on the baking trays; making sure there is some room between them for the dough to riseHeat the oven to 370 F or 180 C degreeBAKINGPut the baking trays into the heated oven and bake until they turn golden brown (or for 25-35 minutes based on the size of the cookies)Once the savoury ring-shaped cookies are baked, take them out of the oven and rest them on the tray for 10-15 minutes to let them cool down slowlySERVINGSavoury Rings have a salty taste and marvellous aroma with crunchy texture!Sesame seeds and black cumin seeds give different kinds of satisfactionSavoury Rings are also very convenient snacks that stay fresh for about a month in a glass jar, ready to serve at any occasionSavoury Rings are a great appetizer alongside a glass of beer and healthy snack alternative while studying or working online!Do NOT deprive yourself of this delicacy!Enjoy life at home!For MORE recipes and detailed directions SUBSCRIBE and FOLLOW the Fairies Cuisine on its YouTube page, link below:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiZuIwEqdDQrXXlFU82WRMw/featured?view_as=subscriber
