सामो खिचड़ी और साबूदाना खीर | Samo Khichdi Sabudana Kheer | Navratri Special | FoodFood

Navaratri is back, and so are the fantastic Vrat recipes. This unique combination of Samo Khichdi and Sabudana Kheer will leave you licking your fingers!

SAMO KHICHDI

Ingredients:
1 cup samo
1 tablespoon ghee
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
¼ cup raw peanuts
Rock salt to taste
Fresh scraped coconut for garnishing

Method:
1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and green chillies and sauté for 30 seconds.
2. Add peanuts and sauté for a minute. Add samo, mix and cook till golden. Reduce heat, add 2 cups water and mix well. Add rock salt, mix, cover and cook for 5-7 minutes.
3. Serve hot garnished with coconut and a coriander sprig

SABUDANE KI KHEER

Ingredients:
1 cup sago (sabudana), soaked
3 cups milk
½ cup grated mawa/khoya
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon chopped almonds
1 tablespoon chopped cashewnuts
¾ cup sugar
1 tablespoon raisins
½ teaspoon green cardamom powder

Method

1. Heat 4 cups water in a deep non-stick pan. Add sago, mix and cook well.
2. Add milk and mawa, mix well and cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes.
3. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add almonds and cashewnuts and sauté on medium heat till golden.
4. Add sugar to the sago mixture, mix well and continue to cook.
5. Add raisins to the nuts, mix and sauté for a minute. Add the sautéed nuts to the sago mixture and mix well.
6. Add cardamom powder, mix well and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
7. Serve warm.
