Salted Caramel Popcorn | Monsoon Magic | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Salted Caramel Popcorn is no longer the dish only found in theatres and is, in fact , a very easy recipe to make.

SALTED CARAMEL POPCORN

Ingredients

⅓ cup dried corn kernels
2 teaspoons oil
Salted caramel sauce
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ cup castor sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
3 tablespoons butter
1½ teaspoons baking soda

Method

1. To prepare popcorn, heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add dried corn kernels, mix, cover and let them pop and shake the pan occasionally. Transfer in a bowl.
2. To prepare salted caramel sauce, heat castor sugar and brown sugar in another deep non-stick pan, mix and cook till it caramelizes.
3. Add sea salt and butter and mix. Add vanilla essence and mix. Add baking soda and mix well.
4. Add popcorn to the sauce and mix till well coated.
5. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, spread the popcorn and cool.
6. Separate the popcorn and serve.
