Sago rice jaggery payasam is a nice blend of sago (also known as sabudana, javarisi or tapioca pearl), rice cooked in milk and sweetened with a delicious golden velvety jaggery and sugar mix syrup; flavoured with the freshness of cardamom powder and topped with nuts (almonds, cashew nuts and raisins). The dish is a sweet delicacy that is prepared usually on festive occasions; rich in carbohydrates

INGREDIENTS
Milk 1 liter
Almonds 20 g
Cashew nuts 20 g
Raisins 20 g
Ghee 2 tb
Cardamom powder ½ ts
Sago 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Rice 2 cup
Jaggery 2cup

Directions:
Take a bowl add rice, sago and add water rinse for some time and drain the water , add rice and sago in to the pressure cooker, add water to cover the rice and sago, cook it for 15 minutes, then add milk, cook this till rice and sago cooked well.
Heat water in a pan add sugar, jaggery, once it comes to boil, add this mixture into the rice and sago mix it well and cook for 5 minutes.
Heat ghee in a pan add almonds, cashew nuts, sauté it and add raisins sauté it and switch off the flame and pour this into the sago and rice payasam, mix it well and add cardamom powder mix it, and switch off the flame.
