Malai kofta is popular as well as the most sought-after vegetarian Indian dish in restaurants. Malai means cream and Kofta are fried dumpling balls. Malai Koftas are melt-in-the-mouth fried dumplings of cottage cheese, napped within a creamy smooth curry.

Ingredients

For Malai Kofta Curry

Makhan (Butter) - 2tbsp
Dal Chini (Cinnamon) (2) - 1stick
Tej Patta (Bayleaf) - 2nos
Laung (Cloves) - 3nos
Kali Elichi (Black cardamom) - 1no
Elichi (cardamom) - 2nos
Jeera (caraway) - 1/2 tsp
Pyaz (onion) chopped - 1 large
Lehsun (garlic paste ) - 1/2tsp
Adrak (ginger paste) - 1/2tsp
Haldi (turmeric) - 1/4 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder - 2 tsps
Jeera powder (Cumin) - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Tamatar (tomato) chopped - 3 large
Namak (salt) - to taste
Kaju (cashewnts) - /14 cup (handful)
Pani (water) - 2 &1/4 cups
Chini (Sugar) - 1/2 tsp
Cream - cup

For Kofta
Paneer (cottage cheese) - 1cup
Aloo (potato) boiled & mashed - 1cup
Dhaniya (Coriander) chopped - 2 tbsps
Adrak (ginger) chopped - 1 tbsp
Hari Mirch (green chilli) chopped - 1 no
Cornflour/Cornstarch -2 tbsps
Namak (salt) - to taste
