RAW BANANA TUK

Ingredients

3 raw bananas, boiled
1 tbsp roasted and coarsely crushed coriander seeds
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
1 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
1 tsp chopped fresh coriander leaves
Tea to serve

Method

1. To make spice mix, combine together coriander seeds, cumin powder, dried mango powder, red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
2. Peel the raw bananas and vertically halve them. Cut them into 3 parts and lightly press each half between your palms.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
4. Gently slide in the raw banana pieces and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper. Sprinkle some of the prepared spice mix and coriander leaves and gently toss.
5. Serve hot with tea.
