Ratalyacha Chivda Sweet Potato Chivda Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A simple lightly sweet-spicy snack made from sweet potatoes.

RATALYACHA CHIVDA

Ingredients

4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and grated
Oil for deep frying
1 cup raw peanuts
30-40 curry leaves
10-15 green chillies, slit
Rock salt to taste
2 tsps red chilli powder

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Add the grated sweet potatoes and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside.
2. Add raw peanuts in the same oil and deep fry till golden brown. Drain on the same absorbent paper and set aside.
3. Deep fry the curry leaves and green chillies in the same oil and drain on the same absorbent paper.
4. Transfer all the ingredients in a bowl and sprinkle rock salt and red chilli powder and toss well. Allow to cool.
5. Store in airtight container or serve.
