Pyaaz Aur Chawal Ke Paranthe with Cheese | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Parantha dough stuffed with spicy onion rice mixture with cheese and cooked till perfection.

PYAAZ AUR CHAWAL KE PARANTHE WITH CHEESE


Ingredients

3 medium onions, chopped
2 cups cooked rice
½ cup grated cheese
2½ cups wholewheat flour
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
2 tablespoons ghee + for shallow-frying
2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
¼ teaspoon carom seeds
2 green chillies, finely chopped


Method

1. Mix together the wholewheat flour and salt; rub in two tablespoons of ghee with your fingertips. Add enough water and knead into a medium soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for fifteen to twenty minutes.
2. To make stuffing, combine rice, onions, red chilli powder,coriander leaves, carom seeds, green chillies cheese in a bowl.
3. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll into balls.
4. Roll out each ball into a thick puri. Stuff each puri with the rice mixture and shape into a ball again. Roll out each ball into parantha.
5. Heat a non-stick tawa. Place a parantha on it. Turn it over once and drizzle some ghee around it. Turn over again and drizzle a little more ghee around. Cook, turning over a few times, till both sides are well cooked and golden brown.
6. Serve hot.
