Pull-Apart Butternut & Feta Wreath

This butternut wreath will be the star of your Christmas party!

Serves 4-6

INGREDIENTS

1 bag (400g) McCain Mashed Butternut
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup (150g) feta
tsp each salt and pepper
1 roll store-bought puff pastry
1 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten

Serving suggestion:
Chopped parsley

METHOD

1. Preheat the oven to 200C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

2. Pour the McCain Mashed Butternut into a large microwaveable bowl and cover the bowl with another plate. Microwave it for 6 minutes until soft and defrosted.

3. Add the nutmeg, feta, salt and pepper and stir well to combine.

4. Roll the pastry out into a large rectangle, about 1cm thick. Cut the dough into long equally-sized triangles. Arrange the triangles in a ring around an upside-down wide edged glass on the tray, with the wide ends of the dough overlapping around the glass in the middle and the points facing outwards. The dough ring should resemble a sun-like shape.

5. Spoon the mashed butternut filling in the middle of the pastry ring around the glass. Sprinkle the top of the mashed butternut with 1 cup of the grated cheese.

6. Wrap the tip of each dough triangle over the filling, tucking it under the bottom layer of dough to secure it. Repeat with all dough triangles until the whole ring is enclosed. Brush the dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle over the remaining cheese

7. Bake the ring for 20-25 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden and puffed up. Carefully lift the ring onto a serving plate and sprinkle with chopped parsley to garnish. Serve and ENJOY!
