PRAWNS TIKLEIngredients18-20 medium prawns, cleaned, deveined and washedSalt to taste1 tsp red chilli powder½ tsp turmeric powder2 tbsps coriander seeds7-8 dried red chillies3 tbsps oil1 tbsp finely chopped garlic2 tbsps tamarind water 1 tsp garam masala powder2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnishSteamed rice to serveMethod1. Marinate the prawns with salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder for 10-15 minutes.2. Dry roast coriander seeds and dried red chillies till fragrant. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool slightly.3. Transfer the roasted spices in a blender jar and add ½ cup water. Blend to a fine paste. 4. Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and sauté till golden brown.5. Add the ground paste and sauté till the oil separates. Add 1 cup water, mix and let it come to a boil. 6. Add the marinated prawns and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes.7. Add 1 cup water, tamarind water and garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Adjust salt, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
