Prawn Tempura | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Tempura is a Japanese dish of seafood that have been battered and deep fried. Tempura is very easy to make at home. Try this easy tempura recipe that promises delicious and crispy delight.

Prawn Tempura

Ingredients

12 - 15 prawns, shelled, deveined with tails intact
¼ cup corn flour
¼ cup rice flour
1 cup refined flour + for dusting
¼ teaspoon baking powder
Salt to taste
¼ cup cold water

Method

1. Take refined flour in a bowl. Add cornflour, rice flour, baking powder and salt, mix lightly.
2. Add cold water and mix well to form a lump free batter.
3. Heat oil to deep fry.
4. Dip the prawns in the tempura batter and coat evenly.
5. Deep fry prawns in hot oil till light golden in colour.
6. Serve hot with sweet chilli sauce.
