Prawn Onion Bhajji | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Prawns coated with onion and gramflour batter, deep fried till crispy to make these delicious bhajiyas.

PRAWN ONION BHAJJI - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

8-12 medium prawns, shelled and deveined
1 large onion, sliced
4-5 tablespoons gram flour
Oil for deep-frying
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon crushed coriander seeds
½ teaspoon carom seeds
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Combine onion and gram flour in a bowl and mix. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, crushed coriander seeds, carom seeds, salt and mix well. Add water as required and mix well.
3. Take prawns in another bowl. Add salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
4. Coat each prawn with onion-flour mixture and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
5. Serve hot.
