Lunch, when packed in Banana leaf and consumed after a few hours with flavours of the banana leaf having seeped in, is just out of this world. In the good old days, this was the way people used to carry lunch, especially while travelling. In this age when we are trying to replace plastic, this is such an eco-friendly way of packing with so many health benefits. Given below are the ingredients of the various dishes of Pothichoru.

STRING BEANS STIR FRY
300 gms String Beans
10 Shallots
4 Green Chillies
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 cup Water
3 dry Red Chillies
6 Garlic Cloves
2 tbsp Oil
A few Curry leaves

CHUTNEY/CHAMMANTHI
6 dry Red Chillies
10 Shallots
1 tsp Oil
A few Curry leaves
A little Tamarind
1 cup grated Coconut
Salt to taste

MORU CURRY/SEASONED BUTTERMILK
1 cup Curd
1 cup water
A few Curry leaves
2 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds
2 dry Red Chillies
1/4 tsp Hing
2 Green Chillies
5 chopped Shallots
1 tsp grated Ginger
1 tbsp chopped Garlic
A few Curry leaves
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder
Salt to taste

OMLETTE
3 Eggs
Salt to taste
A pinch of Turmeric powder
5 chopped Shallots
2 chopped Green Chillies
1/2 tsp grated Ginger
A few chopped Curry leaves
3 tsp Oil
