Plant Identification Hike at Misery Bay

In mid-August I spent some time exploring Misery Bay Provincial Park as a citizen botanist - and loved it. Misery Bay is located on the world's largest freshwater island in Ontario.

I had to abandon my foraging urges as this park is 1,100 hectares of protected land. It boasts unique plant life, globally rare alvars, dolostone pavements, wetlands, and part of the area is on the dry shoreline of an ancient glacial lake. Misery Bay has over 15 km of hiking trails, a boardwalk and a bird viewing platform overlooking the wetland.

Taking videos is not my forte so please forgive the wind interfering with me talking at times.

Enjoy! Be sure to visit https://www.ediblewildfood.com.
