Two of the coastal superstars, jackfruit and rice meet to make a simply delicious phirni. PHANSACHI PHIRNIIngredients cup finely chopped jackfruit (phanas)1 liter milk2-3 tbsps rice, soaked4-5 tbsps sugar tsp green cardamom powder1 tbsp almond slivers1 tbsp chopped pistachiosMethod1. Heat three-fourth of milk in a deep non-stick pan, cover and bring to boil.2. Coarsely grind together drained rice and remaining milk, add to boiling milk and cook till the mixture reduces and thickens, stirring continuously.3. Add sugar, mix and cook on medium heat for 1 minute. Add cardamom powder, almond slivers and pistachios, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Switch off heat, add jackfruit and mix well. 4. Pour the mixture into individual small earthen bowls and set aside till set.5.
