Pear Salsa | Pear Pairings | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

An unusual twist to the original salsa dip, Pear Salsa gives the condiment a sweeter and zestier taste.

PEAR SALSA

Ingredients

½ medium USA Pear
1 medium green tomato
½ medium onion
½ fresh jalapeno
2 cups corn chips
3-4 tbsps grated mozzarella cheese
5-6 fresh coriander sprigs
Salt to taste
Juice of ½ lemon
2-3 tbsps sweet chilli sauce

Method

1. Preheat oven to 200° C.
2. Roast the green tomato directly on heat from all sides till golden brown. Remove from heat, cool and peel.
3. Finely chop onion and transfer in a bowl. Finely chop jalapeno and add to the bowl.
4. Deseed and roughly chop USA Pear and add to the bowl.
5. Put corn chips on a baking tray and spread mozzarella cheese on top. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake till the cheese melts.
6. Roughly chop coriander sprigs, add to onion mixture and mix well.
7. Chop the roasted green tomato, add to onion mixture alongwith salt, lemon juice and chilli sauce and mix well.
8. Place baked corn chips on a serving platter, put the salsa on top and serve immediately.
