Peanut Pakora | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Crushed peanuts mixed with other spices in gram flour batter to make these delicious deep fried pakoras. A perfect snack for a monsoon evening.

PEANUT PAKORA

Ingredients

¾ cup roasted peanuts
1 cup gram flour (besan)
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
Salt to taste
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon rice flour
½ cup shredded spinach
Oil for deep-frying

Method

1. Coarsely crush peanuts.
2. Mix together gram flour, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, baking soda, rice flour, spinach and coarsely crushed peanuts with water as required to a batter of dropping consistency.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop in portions of batter and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
4. Serve hot with sweet chutney and green chutney.
