Paneer Moilee | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Vegetarian version of the popular Fish Moilee recipe. Here fish is replaced by paneer.

PANEER MOILEE

Ingredients

400 grams cottage cheese, cut into 1 inch cubes
Salt to taste
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
10 curry leaves
2 medium onions, chopped
2 teaspoons ginger paste
2 teaspoons garlic paste
3 green chillies, slit
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1½ cups thick coconut milk

Method

1. Apply a little salt and lemon juice on cottage cheese pieces and set aside for fifteen minutes.
2. Heat the oil in a kadai, add the mustard seeds. When they splutter, add the curry leaves and sauté for ten seconds. Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent.
3. Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, green chillies, turmeric powder and cottage cheese pieces. Cook on high heat for half a minute.
4. Add the coconut milk and adjust salt. Cook covered on low heat for about ten minutes.
5. Serve hot with steamed rice.
